• Create and maintain a stable pool of experienced and well qualified seafarers
   
• Identify and employ sea staff who are duly qualified according to mandatory rules and regulations, as well as the company's own requirements, to serve in the rank they have been selected for
   
• Employ only those seafarers who are mentally/physically sound, medically fit and free from abuse of habit forming drugs and abuse of alchohol
   
• Employ seafarers who have previous experience of the same or similar vessels to their assignment. Or in the abscence of experience, has attended the requisite training from a reputable school and accredited by applicable administrations

Officers and ratings are all required to comply with Solvang's specific standards of reqruitment criteria and qualifications.
